Meridia IV progresses its strategic divestment program with the sale of two office buildings in Barcelona
Meridia is pleased to announce the sale of Project Uptown, comprising two office buildings located in Sarrià, one of Barcelona’s most established and sought-after neighbourhoods.
The transaction is part of Meridia’s broader disposition strategy, with Meridia III now almost fully divested and Meridia IV advancing through its disposal phase. In parallel, the firm continues to actively invest through Meridia V, its latest real estate value-add vehicle.
Originally acquired in December 2021, Project Uptown consists of two office buildings totalling around 4,000 sqm plus parking. Recognising the area’s high demand and constrained supply of quality office product, Meridia executed a transformational repositioning plan, creating a modern, ESG-compliant workplace with LEED Gold certification.
The comprehensive refurbishment has not only enhanced the asset’s sustainability credentials but also ensured alignment with evolving tenant requirements. As a result, the property has been successfully leased to a leading education-sector tenant, consolidating its long-term appeal and resilience. This transaction highlights Meridia’s ability to unlock value through active project and asset management, while reinforcing its presence in some of Spain’s most prime submarkets. JLL and Uría Menéndez acted as advisors to Meridia in this transaction.
We are thrilled to announce that Meridia has achieved the highest possible score – 5 stars – across all modules of the UN PRI reporting!
